At temperatures lower, we all want something warm and cosy to snuggle up with. Of course, many people may already know about a hot whiskey toddy or mulled wine as a winter warmer, but did you know you can use your premium gin to make some fantastic mixes?
Here are a few of our favourite craft gin cocktail recipes for the wintertime:
Chamomile Hot Toddy
1 Chamomile Tea Bag
1 cup of Hot Water
1 tablespoon Honey
50 ml Brogan’s Way Everyday Salvation Gin
25 ml Lemon Juice
Chamomile Flowers, to garnish
Simply warm a saucepan and infuse your chamomile tea with hot water. Be sure not to use freshly boiling water. Once infused, discard the tea bags and stir in your honey. Remove from the heat and stir in your gin and lemon juice. Garnish with some flowers and a slice of lemon, then enjoy!
Hot Gin Punch
480 ml of Brogan’s Way Hearts Afire Gin
480 ml Sweet Madeira Wine
1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
Peel & Juice of 1 Lemon
Peel & Juice of 1 Orange
1 Pineapple, Peeled, Cored and Sliced
3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Pinch of Nutmeg
In a medium-sized saucepan, add all of the ingredients and simmer on low heat. Allow it to cook for a minimum of 30 minutes gently. Continue to taste as it cooks so you can adjust with additional sugar or lemon juice to your liking. Then pour into a jug and serve!
White Chocolate Gin Flip
30 ml Brogan’s Way Evening Light Gin
30 ml Crème de Cacao Blanc (or any other white chocolate liqueur)
15 ml Brown Sugar Syrup
1 Large Egg Yolk
20 ml Double Cream
2 Dashes of Chocolate Bitters
Grated Dark Chocolate to Garnish
Add your ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake well—strain into a saucepan and gently warm, without bringing to a boil. Gently pour into a serving glass and garnish with chocolate and then enjoy.
